New Rotarian inducted by President Mike Roper

On 28th February, Seaford Rotary Club welcomed its 45th member, Tony Humphreys.
Tony who has lived in Seaford for nearly 20 years is married to Hilary with two children, Stephen and Jacqueline. He is now retired, but before retirement he worked as an IT professional in the insurance industry since 1979.
Tony is originally from Newcastle under Lyme, North Staffordshire, where he attended Wolstanton County Grammar school. He went to Sheffield University where he met Hilary, and completed a degree in Zoology in 1972, before going on to do research in animal behaviour at Birmingham University.
There he became interested in developing technology, moving to Warwick University’s microcomputer development lab, then to a large insurance broker – Bain Clarkson (now part of AON) first in Birmingham then in Haywards Heath to develop and eventually run their UK insurance systems.
After 15 years, he decided to go freelance, working on several interesting projects with various companies, including AIG, Direct Line, Groupama, Prudential, Allianz and Swiftcover (now part of AXA).
His interests include photography, cooking, classic cars (he owns a 1949 Land Rover) Seaford Striders running club (not running but helping out and maintaining their website), walking, reading and music.
