Young Photographer presentation

The winners of Seaford Rotary Club’s third competition for Young Photographers, supported by Fotobox, have announced.
First prize in the Junior Section was won by Amber Robinson from Chyngton Primary School with Seaford Head School taking the honours in the Intermediate and Senior sections through Tom Trollope and Matt Flood.
The aim of the competition is to encourage young people to experiment and express their ideas through the medium of photography. This year entrants were asked to produce a portfolio of three photographs based on the theme Reflection.
There were three age groups, Junior from age seven to ten, Intermediate from eleven to thirteen and Senior from fourteen to seventeen. Judging was based on technical merit, content and composition, imagination, and style and was particularly difficult due to the varying ways that the competitors interpreted the theme.
Prizes were presented to the winners by the Deputy Young Mayor Thomas Exley during the evening of the Club’s Young Musicians Competition. All runners up were also given a Fotobox voucher to encourage their interest in photography.
