Rotary Club Competitions: Round 1

OCTOBER saw the commencement of the annual Rotary District annual competitions. Seaford Rotary Club had mixed results with three teams progressing to Round 2 and one suffering defeat.
The darts team met Burgess Hill Rotary Club and although not starting particularly well and going into the meal break with Burgess Hill having won both games, the food revitalised the team and they fought back to win the next three games and thus the match by 3 games to 2. Steven Willox was the hero for the team managing to find the double to win the game on two occasions. Their match in Round 2 will be against the winner of the match between Sussex Vale B and Brighton & Hove Southdowns B.
Seaford A skittles team were due to play their match against Brighton & Hove Soiree, but due to illness of several their opponents team the match had to be postponed. Their opponents were however not able to field a full team on the rearranged date and thus Seaford progress to the next round without bowling a ball. Their next match will be against Hove. Seaford B skittles team has a bye to Round 2 in which they will play Brighton & Hove Southdowns. Should both Seaford teams win their Round 2 matches they will meet in Round 3.
