Paul Harris Fellowship awardBefore his last act as President there was one task that Peter Fenwick had much pleasure in performing - the presentation of a Paul Harris Fellowship award. He gave a résumé of the life of the recipient which included running a 2 week open tennis tournament with a friend for 7 years, chairmen of Tennis Sussex for 5 years and regularly refereeing junior tennis tournaments as well as giving exceptional service to the Rotary Club including through Chairmanship of the Youth and Vocational Committee and arranging for the replacement of the Rotary Sleigh and a new garage.
The worthy recipient was of course, Past President Jim Anderson, and as Peter gave Jim his award, he extended congratulations to him on behalf of the Club for all he has done in supporting both the Club and the local community.
After the award, a very surprised Jim said that he was completely unaware the award was to be made and that if he appeared not to be smiling when photographs were taken it was because he was trying to think of a suitable response to his award.
